In this way, the president of the Generalitat denies a recommendation from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition, led by the third vice president Teresa Riberawho had assured before, this same Sunday that, that in the In 60 municipalities, residents had to boil water before consuming it.
Mazón said: “There are no official recommendations to heat water at this time,” and has reiterated that bottled water should be used both for consumption and for cooking and that tap water, in any case, should only be used for personal hygiene.
Furthermore, the Valencian regional president has recalled that at all the points where products are distributed there are stock of free bottled water.
In any case, Mazón has explained that the situation of running water and its quality is different in each municipality, which is why he has recommended that the population be pay attention to the guidelines given by each City Council.
Support from the Government Delegation
The Government delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabehas supported Mazón’s recommendation.
In a public appearance, the Government delegate has indicated that CECOPI recommends drinking bottled water for human consumption in the municipalities hit by DANA, especially in those most severely affected.
