‘There is no room for abuse’: The Game Awards’ categorical ‘no’ against Activision.
“The Game Awards are a time of celebration for this industry, the world’s largest source of entertainment. There is no place for abuse, harassment and predatory practices, in any company and community.” Geoff Keighley’s tweet is clear, confirming Activision Blizzard’s absence from the show.
“We must all work together to build a world to create a better and more inclusive environment for everyone to feel safe in creating the best games in the world.”. The fame that Kotick’s company has created specifically in recent months has led to a sudden drop in Activision’s shares, but the problem is beyond the vile money: abuses, threats, practices more than offensive and misogynistic, all things that they only contribute to the reputation of the entire industry.
#TheGameAwards is a time of celebration for this industry, the biggest form of entertainment in the world.
There is no place for abuse, harassment or predatory practices in any company or any community.

Keighley goes on to write that “We are all responsible. What we want to celebrate are the games, and the talented people who develop them.”, before concluding with a laconic invitation to follow the show. The collective A Better ABK (Activision, Blizzard, King) meanwhile it is receiving more and more acclaim for trying to overthrow the toxic leadership of Activision Blizzard.
