From this Saturday French adults who already have the complete vaccine schedule can get an extra dose
The French have launched for the booster dose, encouraged by the approach of Christmas and to ensure the COVID certificate. In two days, some three million citizens made an appointment to get the booster dose, after on Thursday the French government announced new measures to fight against the fifth wave of the pandemic. Doctolib, a website for medical appointments, was immediately overwhelmed by the large number of requests.
Starting this Saturday, French adults who already have the complete vaccine schedule can get an extra dose, five months after their last injection. Until Friday, only those over 65 could do it.
Many French people want to wear the reinforcement to be able to spend the immediate parties, with family or friends with more tranquility. Others intend to maintain the covid certificate, which, as of January 15, will be deactivated if the booster dose of the vaccine is not given, seven months after having the complete schedule. This document is required from this summer to go to the cinema, a museum, a restaurant or to travel on long-distance trains.
France began vaccinating against the coronavirus on December 27, 2020, at the same time as other European countries. At that time, it was one of the territories in the world where its inhabitants were most reluctant.
On the contrary, almost a year later, they embrace the inoculations. Currently 76.1% of the population has the complete guideline. And six million have gotten the booster dose.
