Zakharova called on international organizations to condemn the execution of Russian prisoners of war
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, demanded that international organizations condemn the execution of Russian prisoners by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). It is reported on the site departments.
Zakharova also called for a thorough investigation. “Each atrocity committed by Ukrainian armed groups will not go unpunished. All those guilty and involved in the crimes will be identified and will suffer a well-deserved punishment. No one will escape retribution, ”she said.
According to Zakharova, Moscow has repeatedly drawn the attention of the international community to the brutal attitude of the Ukrainian side towards the detained Russian military personnel.

Execution of Russian prisoners of war
On Friday, November 18, a video with footage of the execution of Russian soldiers by Ukrainian soldiers was published on the network.
One video shows the bodies of Russian servicemen who surrendered and were later shot by the Ukrainian military. In another video at the end of the recording, one of the soldiers, probably from the Russian Armed Forces, refused to surrender and opened fire.

According to the publication “Russian Spring”, earlier on social networks a video with dead Russian soldiers, who were attributed to the People’s Militia of the DPR and DPR, was widely distributed. The Russian media wrote that the footage depicted the consequences of the execution.
“Ukrainians in the comments wrote all sorts of excuses that the dead fell from the arrival of a mine / in battle, and so on. Now we see that the fighters surrendered, except for one who opened fire at the end of the video, and then their bodies with signs of finishing off are visible in the second video, ”the article says.
Russia’s reaction
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will have to answer before the court of history, the peoples of Russia for every tortured and killed prisoner of war.

Valery Fadeev, Chairman of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC), said that the video, which allegedly shows the execution of Russian servicemen, will be sent to world human rights organizations. He noted that he intends to seek an international investigation.
Fadeev stressed that the UN had already responded to his letter, in which he reported a similar case that could have taken place near Kupyansk. “They are checking our information and will give their assessment ‘with all possible attention’,” he said.

Fadeev also added that he plans to report the possible execution of the Russian military to two thousand organizations, including the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the OSCE, the Council of Europe, Amnesty International and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Russia’s permanent representative to the UN office and other international organizations in Geneva, Gennady Gatilov, in turn, called the execution of Russian prisoners a war crime.

Criminal proceedings
The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a case on the fact of the mass execution of Russian prisoners of war by soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The department reported that the ICR opened a case under Article 105 (“Murder of two or more persons committed by a group of persons in connection with their official activities”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and under Article 356 (“Ill-treatment of prisoners of war”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Russian investigators are taking steps to identify the individuals who filmed the brutal video. Other investigative and operational measures are being carried out in full to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
Also on November 14, the Russian Investigative Committee began investigating the torture of a Russian serviceman killed in Ukraine. Ukraine handed over to the Luhansk People’s Republic during the exchange the body of a serviceman of the People’s Militia with signs of torture. Experts found fractures of the bones of the hand, a crushed phalanx of the finger, a cut off part of the cartilage of the auricle, gunshot wounds to the legs and many burns on the body of the deceased.
