What happened this Sunday during the visit of the kings and other authorities to Paiporta is the symptom of a flood that has been brewing for a long time and for which the Valencia catastrophe has acted as a spigot. What happened in Valencia may not overcome a specific government, due to its poor foresight, negligent and clumsy management of the threat. Instead, we may face a State crisis of enormous magnitude and unpredictable development.
What happened with Paiporta is not (or is not only) an operation to poison the extreme right, an attempt to putscha call to insurrection, is the expression of something deeper. Obviously, there will be parties that want to take advantage of it, but they may find that the consequences of all this end up dragging them down as well. Because what was revealed this Sunday is a flood, deaf, in the background. This is not about the continuity of Mazón or that of Sánchez. Whoever plays on that wavelength is wrong. This is a flood that calls into question basic elements of the way we have understood until now the political organization of our society.
