The US Space Agency (NASA) said that Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft launched to the International Space Station on the first manned test flight.
The spacecraft was launched using the Atlas 5 rocket today, Wednesday, from the Cape Canaveral Spaceport in the US state of Florida, carrying NASA astronauts Barry Wilmore and Sonny Williams on board.
The flight had been postponed several times due to multiple technical problems with the spacecraft and rocket. It is noteworthy that the Starlines vehicle, which can be partially reused and consists of a crew capsule and a service module and is capable of carrying four people, is expected to arrive at the International Space Station tomorrow, Thursday, where Willmore and Williams will stay for about a week. In May 2022, Starlines completed the first successful unmanned flight to the International Space Station and spent four days there, which was an important test for the spacecraft.
