The Spanish team’s debut in the team competition is postponed to Friday due to the weather conditions expected in the city.
The Dana that approaches Malaga disrupts the plans of the Billie Jean King Cup and postpones the first day in which the Spanish team was going to debut. This is what the organization has decided, taking into account the forecast of bad weather that is heading towards Malaga, the city that hosts this competition and where next week’s Davis Cup is also held, in which Rafael Nadal’s farewell is expected.
The organization has preferred to safeguard the well-being of the tennis players and fans and also announces that this first day, the debut of the Spanish team against Poland, is postponed to Friday, November 15, starting at 10 in the morning.
«This decision has been made based on the indications of the relevant authorities to guarantee the well-being and safety of all participants and attendees. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation,” the organizers indicate.
It is also announced that Wednesday’s tickets will be used for the new date and time of Friday’s event. Waiting for the situation to stabilize for that day and not disrupt the calendar again.
