The company indicated that the fire resulted in 10 injuries, some of them in serious condition.
She explained that 7 injuries were transferred to Al-Adan Hospital to complete the treatment, pointing out that 5 of them suffered severe burns, and two cases with moderate burns.
It also indicated that 3 minor burn injuries are being treated in the refinery’s private clinic.
The Kuwait National Petroleum Company confirmed that “the refinery’s operations and export operations were not affected by the fire,” according to Reuters.
She explained that the damaged unit was out of service, adding, “The local marketing and supply operations of the Ministry of Electricity and Water were also not affected.”
In September, the company announced that it had started an environmentally friendly project that includes increasing the refining capacity at the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery to 346,000 barrels per day.
