That is why it is so important to support Ukraine now,” the head of the Foreign Ministry predicted. Haavisto also assessed Kyiv’s prospects and noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (UAF) “can save the situation and, in this sense, win this battle.”
Earlier, the minister said that trust between Russia and the European Union (EU) could be restored over time. He recalled that at the moment it is very calm on the Finnish-Russian border, and the Finnish Embassy in Moscow remains open.
Russia has been conducting a special military operation in Ukraine since February 24. As Russian President Vladimir Putin explained, its goal is the demilitarization and denazification of the country.
