The latest edition of the Festival del Cine, with tickets at 3.50 euros, has recovered a good part of the spectators that had been left behind, but without reaching the stupendous figures that it managed before the pandemic. The figure was given this morning by the Federation of Cinemas of Spain (FECE): 1,291,799 spectators in the four days that this XIX edition lasted, held between October 3 and 6. According to provisional figures from the consulting firm Comscore, the chilling ‘Smile’ leads the ranking of the most watched films in this new edition of the Film Festival, followed by the revival of ‘Avatar’ and the wonderful ‘Model 77’. ‘Don’t worry dear’, ‘Tadeo Jones 3: The emerald tablet’, ‘Journey to paradise’, ‘La vida padre’, ‘The crooked lines of God’, ‘Bullet Train’ and ‘The wild girl’ complete this top ten that has four Spanish films to its credit.

Precisely this morning the Minister of Culture and Sports, Miquel Iceta, reeled off the items of the General State Budgets dedicated to culture and emphasized the bad situation that cinemas are going through. «The situation of the rooms is very worrying. It is the third exercise with aids. We have gone from 10 million to 14 in these budgets. We have to go back to theaters to promote cinema. We must return at least as before the pandemic, ”Iceta requested, aware that the health crisis has changed the paradigm and has accelerated the transfer of a good part of the viewers to the platforms.
