After a vibrant inaugural test in Getxo, where the team Solgosen from the Royal Yacht Club of Valencia and the Nàutic Arenal Club rose with the victory, the competition now moves to the Valencian Community to celebrate its second phase in the waters of the Bay of Altea. On this occasion, the regattas will be played aboard Platu 25 monotypes, boats provided by the Altea Yacht Club itself, which guarantee technical equality between equipment and focus the challenge on tactical expertise and on -board coordination.
The competition format maintains the agile and dynamic structure that characterizes the Iberdrola League: a series of short regattas that will face the different crews in a rapid rotation system, with access to a final Race Medal for the six best teams of the qualifying phase. This last manga, of double score, will be decisive to configure the podium of this second stage.
Eleven teams and 55 women have registered in the Altea event, which consolidates the sustained growth of this competition that aims to boost female candle in Spain. Its inclusive approach and its innovative format position this league as a reference for female sport in our country.
It is worth noting the return of the team Solgreen from the RCN Valencia and the CN Arenal, led by Elena de Tomás, who will seek to consolidate his position as leader of the championship after his victory in Getxo. «I think we participate in Altea with a very solid team -says Tomás -although we are not the same as in Getxo, for example Maria Perelló will not be. In addition, the rivals are very strong and will be very disputed, so we cannot trust ».
The Altea women’s team participates again in this second test and with the incentive of competing at home. “We are very excited to compete in Altea, where we know the field of regatta,” says Gracia Suárez, captain of the team. We come to continue adding points and, above all, to enjoy the competition at the highest level ».
