First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Volodymyr Dzhabarov called the act of the Ukrainian journalist Yuri Butusov, who fired a howitzer at the militia, as a crime.
The senator is convinced that the actions of the journalist were a planned PR action by a “not very smart person.”
“And weapons prohibited in southeastern Ukraine in accordance with the Minsk agreements are being used <...> He shoots at civilians, and the investigating authorities in the DPR have every reason to initiate a criminal case. And sooner or later he will answer in court for his deeds and will bitterly regret the stupidity that he has done, “Dzhabarov said in an interview with REN TV November 28.
We are talking about a video that shows how Butusov, who was not a serviceman, makes a shot from a howitzer towards the positions of the militia in Donbass. At the same time, the man said that he “devotes” the shot to the victims of the Holodomor.
As Butusov explained later, he did this act, wishing to “congratulate” his compatriots on the tragic date. According to the journalist, the shot was fired in accordance with the existing conventions.
On November 25, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, announced that the Ukrainian army was advancing in the area of the settlements of Staromaryevka and Granitnoye in the Donbass. According to her, the situation is “serious concern.”
The representative of the department also stressed that the internal Ukrainian crisis cannot be resolved by force, the conflict can only be overcome by negotiations.
Since 2014, Kiev has been conducting a military operation against the residents of Donbass, who refused to recognize the results of the coup d’etat and the new government in Ukraine. At the same time, Kiev blames Moscow for the current situation. Russia has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the internal Ukrainian conflict.
