Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov said that the Ukrainian authorities had no negotiating potential. He wrote about this in his Telegram-channel.
“Kiev has abandoned its negotiating potential, since it was pointlessly pulling the nonexistent topic of Crimea to the fore and openly sabotaging the Minsk agreements,” said the member of the Federation Council.
Earlier, a similar statement was made by the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev. According to him, negotiations with Ukraine are meaningless, since there are ignorant and non-binding people in power in Kiev. He stated that the only way for Moscow is to wait for the change of leadership to “sane”.
Prior to this, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that there are contacts between the Kremlin and the office of the President of Ukraine in order to find a list of issues for a meeting of the leaders of the two countries. At the same time, he added that there is no common understanding and readiness to formulate an agenda for a possible meeting yet.
