The famous Russian writer Lyudmila Petrushevskaya shared her memories of her childhood in the center of the capital on her Facebook page, owned by the American company Meta Platforms Inc. (recognized as an extremist organization and banned in Russia). The prose writer said that she lived in Stoleshnikov Lane, which was considered a hot spot in Soviet Moscow.
“All Stoleshnikov was in the courtyards of a Moscow brothel, as I learned from my memories. Our room was on Stoleshnikovo, a three-story mansion with a glass stained-glass window in the Art Nouveau style, ”recalled Petrushevskaya.
According to the writer, it was not safe to live in this area, even as a child. Petrushevskaya said that as a child she almost became a victim of rape when the son of the owners of the room and girls she knew tried to lure her into the attic.
“I had a price, 14 thousand. I heard this figure, an old woman came to the owners with bundles. Looking at me, she turned away and said it, looking into the corner, ”added the prose writer.
Previously, Petrushevskaya recalled her childhood during the Stalinist repressions.
