The first months of 2024 were full of great releases and more will arrive throughout the year: one of the most anticipated ones is not a real game, but a mod. We are obviously talking about Fallout London, the Fallout 4 expansion mod that takes us to London. Unfortunately, as we reported to you, it was postponed due to the arrival of the Fallout 4 update in the current gen version.
The team explained that they simply don't want to publish Fallout London in “old gen” versionbecause it would prevent all players who prefer to use the latest version of Fallout 4 from downloading the mod.
At the same time, the authors admit that if the corrections take too long, they would be “forced” to release Fallout London as is. However, it would not be an ideal option and certainly the team would not want to have two parallel versions of the game to update and expand.
Fallout London was scheduled for today, April 23rd. A new precise release date has not been indicated.
The words of the authors of Fallout London
“Many of you are curious as to why we didn't just release what we currently have with the old version,” the Team FOLON project manager Dean Carter on the official Fallout London Discord. “It's important to understand that this mod is for everyone, not just a select few. Most players will benefit from the update [di Fallout 4 next-gen] and cutting off a significant portion of our player base is not a viable option.”
“Furthermore, maintaining two separate builds in the future would be impractical, especially for what we have planned. I understand this situation can be frustrating, but it is the reality we must face. We hope that the update is relatively small and that we can provide fixes to you as soon as possible. However, if this poses a significant risk to our creation, we may be forced to release what we have as is, against our plans.”
