It must have been a bit of a puzzle, but the FIA has put their stamp on it: the F1 calendar for 2023 is known. It is the first time that 24 races are on the calendar. Zandvoort is indeed moving forward a week and we will open the season again in Bahrain. The final piece will again be in Abu Dhabi.
On March 5, a new chapter in the great Formula 1 book begins. The first triple header on the 2023 F1 calendar takes place when the circus, after a first trip to Azerbaijan, returns to Europe. Then on April 21, the GP of Emilia-Romagna (Imola) is on the program. A week later they drive on to Monaco and then move south to Barcelona.
Zandvoort after the summer break
The last race before the summer break this year is not the GP of Hungary, but that of Belgium. Race will be held on July 30 at Spa. On August 27, the racing violence erupts again at Zandvoort. The 2023 F1 calendar closes with a double header: first on November 18 the debut of Las Vegas and finally the GP of Abu Dhabi.
Also notable is the return of the Qatar GP to the Losail International Circuit. Rumors circulated that South Africa would already be on the calendar next year, but that will have to wait another year. The 2023 F1 calendar also heralds the end of the French GP. At least for now.
