The lifespan of a smartphone is usually around five years, but this period is not a limit and it can be extended. This was announced on Tuesday, July 27, by the leading analyst of Mobile Research Group Eldar Murtazin.
The first smartphones were quite technological for the demands of their time, but nevertheless, in terms of “survivability”, these devices cannot be characterized as reliable. Gradually, the service life of the equipment increased, and at the moment a modern smartphone can serve from three to five years. Thus, the limitation of the life of technology is the time during which the manufacturer is ready to support his products.
“Typically, the manufacturer claims a smartphone’s lifespan of three to five years. This is the lifespan of a particular model, although de facto your smartphone can last ten years. The service life in this case is the period when the manufacturer supports the smartphone with components and spare parts, ”the expert shared in his comment radio Sputnik…
Even after the direct purchase of a new gadget, the old device can come in handy, for example, Murtazin explained, as the basis for a security system or a baby monitor for a child. According to the expert, such devices can live long enough – “they can work from an outlet for 20 or 30 years”, and their performance and speed will correspond to the level of a specific task.
Murtazin pointed out that there are many ways to use an outdated gadget, but it should be understood that in this case the owner is responsible for the life of the smartphone.
Earlier, on July 24, Aleksey Vereshchagin, head of the department for analysis of subscriber equipment and support for the development of the Beeline network, spoke about ways to extend the battery life of a mobile phone, noting that within the framework of extending the operation of the device, it should not be completely discharged.
