London (AFP) – The price of the euro against the Australian pound on Thursday hit its lowest level since the vote on Britain’s exit from the European Union “Brexit” in June 2016, while the single European currency suffers from the war in Ukraine. The euro, which was affected by its geographical proximity to the conflict zone, and its dependence on Russian energy, fell 0.13 percent to 82.83 pence for one euro in London trading around 10 GMT. It had reached 82.76 pence earlier, a level not seen in five and a half years. On the other hand, unemployment recorded a new record low of 6.8% in January.
