The euro exchange rate soared at auction 86 rubles for the first time since September 2021. It is reported by TASS with reference to the data of the Moscow Exchange.
According to the site’s data at 19:29 Moscow time, the euro against the ruble rose to 1.25 percent by the close of the previous session and traded at 86.02 rubles. The last time the euro was fixed above 86 rubles in September.
Also, during the trading session of the Moscow Exchange, the dollar rate rose above 76 rubles. This happened for the first time since April 22. The dollar exchange rate increased by 0.77 percent to 75.94 rubles.
The journalists noted that the cost of the March Brent oil futures contract on the London ICE exchange is growing by 1.47 percent, to $ 81.18 per barrel. At the same time, WTI crude oil rises in price by 1.57 percent and is traded at $ 78.2 per barrel.
Earlier, experts predicted the strengthening of the US dollar in 2022. Egor Zhilnikov, an analyst of the profile department of the Center for Analytics and Expertise of Promsvyazbank, noted that the average rate of the American currency will be kept at around 75.5 rubles.
