The European Commission (EC) has recommended limiting the validity of the European Union (EU) COVID certificates to nine months. It is reported by TASS…
“The European Commission proposes to pay more attention to a ‘personalized’ approach to travel arrangements and a standard vaccination certification period of nine months from the date of primary vaccinations,” said a statement released by Brussels on 25 November.
The nine-month validity period for the certificates has been recommended by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control. Also, the European Commission recommended receiving booster doses of the vaccine six months after the introduction of the main part of the drug.
The EC stressed that restrictive measures, such as tests and quarantine, should not be applied to certificate holders. The restrictions are also required to exempt children under 12 years of age and citizens who make “important trips”.
Earlier on November 25, it became known that from March 1, 2022, the European Union will allow entry to anyone who has had coronavirus or was vaccinated with drugs approved by WHO and the European Medicines Agency (EMA). Entry rules will depend on the status of the traveler, not the country of departure.
