good news for women’s football in Cameroon. The African country will host LaLiga de la Igualdad, a project of the NGO Petrichor and LaLiga, through its Foundation and its women’s football department. Both entities have joined forces to create a football league aimed at girls to girls under 13 and 15 years old, from February to May this year, in the central region of Cameroon, city of Yaoundé, where the vast majority of matches will be played.
It is a collaboration that provides an extraordinary opportunity for young people, and especially girls, to be part of a real football league and enjoy all aspects of the sport. This will not only give them the opportunity to travel, meet other teams, compete, build their character and develop their skills, but also to express themselves, be valued and treated in equal conditions through football.
As part of this collaboration, LaLiga will offer three sessions of its Women’s Football Training Methodology to 40 Cameroonian female coaches. In addition, and as part of the same agreement, the LaLiga Foundation gives coaches the same number of workshops with its values education methodology: Values to Win. The project is directed both by Tresor Penku, delegate of LaLiga, and by the Petrichor management, which includes Jordan Cone and Paul Dreisbach.
The Petrichor equipment included in this collaboration will be Green City, Regina FA, Social du Mbam, T7 and Petrichor Elite. It should be noted that LaLiga de la Igualdad will provide all the equipment, logistics and means of communication so that this league of 5 teams that will reach more than 200 young players and more than 40 coaches.
