The award is for an initiative by Jorge Losana and David Gutiérrez based on residencies for emerging artists, international conferences, workshops and live concerts
«This European recognition is very important for us, since it confirms that events such as the ECOS festival can be held from small municipalities far from large cultural centers with relevant activities at a national, European and international level. It is a symbol of the vision that Anacronía and Cantoría, the organizing groups of the festival, share in the ECOS Labs, the vision that culture should move the public and that by sharing our experiences as musicians we become stronger”, said Jorge Losana, director of the ECOS Festival of Sierra Espuña.
The European Network of Early Music (REMA) awards, every two years, its prizes to projects that contribute significantly to the early music sector and its development. Approximately 15 categories put in the spotlight the initiatives worldwide that best reflect the vision and versatility of the protagonists of early music.
The commitment to emerging groups, young talent and the internationalization of the ECOS Festival of Sierra Espuña is demonstrated in this way thanks to the granting of the award to the ECOS Labs, a program developed by Jorge Losana (Cantoría) and David Gutiérrez (Anacronía). based on residencies for emerging artists, international conferences, workshops and live concerts. The video clips and round tables can be enjoyed on the different digital channels of the festival.
The ‘REMA Awards’ evolved in 2022 with its division into three categories that reflect the priorities of the network and the main fields of specialization of the sector: professional cooperation, heritage and repertoire, and public participation. The Dublin call, in which Jorge Losana participated, was a meeting place to address common challenges, as well as facilitate the circulation of projects and initiatives at an international, national and regional level.
Jorge Losana took advantage of the occasion as director and tenor of Cantoría to announce the next two concerts of the group in the Region of Murcia, which will be held on December 21 in Aledo (place where ECOS was born and the first concert of Cantoría) and on December 22 in Librilla.
