“He is a person who would have spent the entire afternoon with Marlon Perez chatting in a public place. There are videos that determine that they were together and that they would have left that place towards a public road,” said Colonel Carlos Andrés Martínez Romero, commander of the Antioquia Police.

I don’t even do it for money sometimes because the money comes later.”
To conclude the program, Pérez reiterated that if people only think about “how much they are going to be paid” for a certain task, they will have difficulties along the way.

“From the Colombian Olympic Committee we deeply regret Marlon’s departure and send a message of strength to his entire family, loved ones and the Colombian cycling community for this unfortunate event,” said the Colombian Olympic Committee.
The Colombian Cycling Federation stated that, in addition to being a reference for cycling in the country, Pérez was an “example of dedication, discipline and passion for sport.”
The Ministry of Sports highlighted that he has dedicated “a large part of his life to sport and cultivating the cycling talent of the country’s children and young people.”
