Andrei Tyazhelnikov, chief freelance specialist in primary health care for adults of the Moscow Department of Health, warned Russians about the dangers of air conditioners in the heat. He told RIA Newsthat a sharp cooling of a sweating person can lead to a drop in immunity.
According to him, the temperature drop is a great danger.
“For example, if you go into an air-conditioned room after a heat wave, the big difference between the temperature outside and in the room can cause stress for the body, which will lead to a decrease in immunity. When a person is sweating, stress is aggravated by the fact that the moisture on the body instantly cools. Therefore, you need to be very careful with air conditioners. In the car, the air must be cooled gradually and not set to too cold temperature, ”Tyazhelnikov said.
The doctor urged not to go outside sweating in windy weather, and also try to stay in a comfortable temperature – up to 25 degrees. The specialist called the shower an effective way to cool down, however, he warned that the shower should not be cold. “If possible, it should be taken several times a day, avoiding feelings of discomfort – at least twice a day. A shower will also help get rid of unpleasant odors, remove excess grease and dust, and unclog pores, ”the doctor explained.
Earlier in July, therapist Larisa Alekseeva named ways to survive the heat without harm to health. To do this, you need to drink abundantly, give up fatty and salty foods, and also take a cold shower more often and arrange wet cleaning. In hot weather, especially from 12 to 18 hours, the physician advised people with chronic diseases, retirees, and those who do not need to work not to go outside.
