The incidence among the unvaccinated from COVID-19 is 13.5 times higher than among the vaccinated. This was announced on Monday, November 22, by the chief sanitary doctor of the Sverdlovsk region Dmitry Kozlovskikh.
“The risks of getting sick in vaccinated people are significantly lower. The incidence rates among the vaccinated are about 313 per 100 thousand vaccinated. The incidence rate among the unvaccinated is almost 4 400 per 100 thousand. Therefore, we see that the incidence rate among the unvaccinated is 13.5 times higher, ”he told reporters.
The doctor also noted that there are practically no vaccinated people in intensive care units. According to him, after vaccination, the severity of the disease is significantly reduced. At the same time, there is a certain percentage of people who do not develop immunity after vaccination, Kozlovskikh added.
A day earlier, the director of the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, Alexander Gintsburg, said that the attempts of some citizens to wait out and not get vaccinated against COVID-19 while vaccinating others is a stupid approach.
According to him, contact with the outside world for people without immunity to coronavirus infection is fraught with infection.
On November 19, the operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus infection reported that the level of herd immunity to COVID-19 in Russia had reached 50.2%. It is noted that a week earlier, the level of herd immunity in the country was 49%.
