Doctor Sharapova urged to wear light-colored clothes during the heat
In hot weather, it is not recommended to stay in the open sun for a long time, warned in a conversation with “Evening Moscow”, the chief physician of the Vinogradov Clinical Hospital, Professor Olga Sharapova.
According to her, it is important not to forget about a hat, since under direct sunlight and under the influence of high temperatures, your head can bake in one and a half to three hours. Caps, baseball caps, hats or scarves will help protect against sunstroke.
The doctor recalled the first symptoms of overheating: headache and dizziness. Due to the dilation of blood vessels, blood begins to stagnate in the body, as a result of which a person may experience nausea. More serious signs of sunstroke are shortness of breath, darkening of the eyes, hallucinations, and loss of consciousness. In the most severe cases, overheating threatens cardiac arrest.
To protect from the heat, it is important to wear light-colored clothing made from cotton or linen fabrics. It is recommended to drink at least two liters of still water, not eat fatty foods and not exercise. Ideally, it is better not to leave the house, at least in the middle of the day, the doctor concluded.
Previously, Russians were given advice on how to combat heat in their apartments. It is recommended to wash the floor twice a day with cold water, and also to protect yourself from the penetration of sunlight into the room using curtains.
