You can eat no more than 50 g of honey per day. This was told by a nutritionist-gastroenterologist Nuria Dianova.
At the same time, she noted that this maximum dose is calculated on the condition that a person does not eat other sugar.
“The consumption rate, which is prescribed by WHO, is 50 g of sugar per day. It is believed that it is better if it is actually 25 g. If we start from this story, then it all depends on how much regular sugar you use. If a person does not eat it at all, then he can safely consume from 25 to 50 g of honey, ”Dianova said in an interview with “Evening Moscow”.
The doctor explained that honey contains sugar and fructose. In terms of calories, it can be attributed to sugar: honey is only 50-60 calories less.
According to the nutritionist, if a person does not have diabetes and is overweight, then you can eat both honey and sugar per day, but reducing the amount.
“If there are no serious contraindications, make a “rejuvenating apple”: take an apple, pull out the core, sprinkle with a little chopped nuts and put in the oven or just in the microwave for 2-3 minutes. Put a teaspoon of honey on an already cooled apple,” Dianova advised.
The doctor noted that it is impossible to heat honey. During the heating process, it will lose its active components and turn into ordinary sugar.
On January 14, nutritionist Mikhail Ginzburg said that not all people should consume honey. He noted that children under three years of age are contraindicated in the use of honey. In addition, a similar recommendation was made to people with obesity, hypertension, problems with blood pressure, fatty liver disease.
The doctor emphasized that in relation to people suffering from diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, an individual approach is required. According to Ginzburg, honey irritates the stomach lining.
