According to Jeff Grubb, industry insider, The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics, who is also helping, are facing several problems. This information was supported by other journalists and insiders, who assure that the development of the new Perfect Dark is all chaos. This is what Grubb commented on the matter:
“The consequences of this is, I’ve heard more and more, that Perfect Dark is in a difficult state, it sounds like it’s in a very difficult state.
It doesn’t seem like they really bonded in any way.”
In 2023, IGN reported that the development of the new Perfect Dark was restarted, and this game would see the light of day two or three years later, that is, between 2025 and 2026. For its part, Xbox has remained silent on this project. However, considering the recent closure of Tango Gameworks, many have begun to dig a grave for The Initiative, a team that was created with this project in mind. I hope that the new Perfect Dark will be a good game, but everything seems to indicate that this will not be the case. It is incredible that someone like Microsoft, with all its resources, is not able to coordinate a team to deliver a game.
