From January 1, 2022, trucks over 3.5 tons will need a pass to enter Moscow. A prerequisite for obtaining it is registration in the Unified Regional Navigation and Information System of the city of Moscow (RNIS). On December 23, they recalled this in the capital’s Department of Transport.
In the Telegram channel of the department, it is noted that since July 1 of this year, daytime restrictions for trucks over 3.5 tons have already been in effect.Thanks to the measures taken, the number of trucks in Moscow has decreased by 26%, the number of transit trucks has decreased by 25%, and the load has dropped by 34%. MKAD during the day and the number of accidents with trucks over 12 tons on the MKAD decreased by 72%.
Applicants will be able to receive passes until December 31, 2022 without providing documents and information that confirm the ownership of the truck, the availability of parking spaces and the passage of technical inspection, if they choose the zone of operation of the MKAD pass.
On December 3, it was reported that KamAZ in January 2022 will begin sales of a new model of the Kompas small-tonnage truck.
The “Compass” project starts with two models: “Compass-9” with a total mass of 9.5 tons and “Compass-12” (11.99 tons). These vehicles are designed to operate in the city and the suburbs. In addition, they can be used in intercity transportation. Also versions of these trucks can be used for various special settings.
