Almost all the world’s leaders met face to face at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly. The general debate, which runs from September 20 to 26, has addressed issues such as the war in Ukraine and the climate crisis, while Latin American countries put the fight against drugs on the table and Iran and the United States criticized each other for the Agreement Nuclear they have not renewed. In this program we take stock of what has been discussed so far in the UN General Assembly.
What can change after the UN General Assembly? How useful are the declarations of presidents and foreign ministers? Does the global south ask for a new role in world geopolitics? We analyze it in this edition of El Debate together with our guests:
– Mónica Hirst, professor at the Institute of Social and Political Studies of the University of Rio de Janeiro and the Torcuato Di Tela University.
– César Niño, international security and defense analyst and professor of international relations at Universidad de la Salle.
