Emmanuel Macron won in the second round of the presidential elections in France. The president achieved victory with 58.5% of the votes against 41.5% of his opponent, Marine Le Pen. The president obtained very favorable results in Paris and its region, as well as in the big cities and in the metropolitan areas of the country, while Le Pen won in peri-urban and rural areas. Now the battle continues for the legislative elections in June, which will define the governability of the president.
