An earlier toll had reported that 13 people were killed when a Sukhoi-34 warplane crashed into a building in the southern city of Yesk, close to the border with Ukraine.
The Russian “TASS” news agency quoted the deputy governor of the Krasnodar region, where the accident occurred, as saying that one of the two new victims in the accident, a 51-year-old woman, who suffered from burns covering 80% of her body, died of these wounds.
The incident occurred on Monday when the warplane crashed into the apartment building shortly after taking off for a training flight.
Video clips of the building transformed into a huge flame ball after the collision.
The pilots managed to eject before the accident.
In explaining the incident, the Russian authorities said that one of the fighter’s engines caught fire during the take-off process as a result of a technical failure.
The investigation committee classified the accident as a violation of flight rules and take-off preparations, and subjected the pilot and his assistant to investigation, and aircraft records were extracted from the crash site, and the authorities set dates for their examination.
Since the start of the Ukraine war on February 24, the airspace around southern Russia has been closed.
Accidents involving Russian civil and military aircraft are common, and are usually the result of technical failure or human error.
In June, a military plane crashed in the city of Ryazan, southeast of Moscow, killing 4 people.
