The person who died at the Trillo nuclear power plant on Wednesday afternoon is the former mayor of the municipality of Cifuentes, Javier Marigil. Board sources has confirmed that Marigil, 64, and that he was in charge of the Cupontino town hall between 2003 and 2011, died while he was in the central, where he currently played his professional activity.
The president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, has transmitted his condolences through his official accounts on social networks, indicating that “he was mayor of Cifuentes and producer of honey well known throughout the region, where they will always remember him.”
Causes outside work activity
The Nuclear Safety Council reported on Wednesday of death, indicating that the causes of death are not related to the performance of work activity and death has not taken place while working.
Along the same lines, sources of the 112 Emergency Service of Castilla-La Mancha have confirmed that it rules out that death is related to work activity and that it has possibly been due to natural causes.
Trillo reaction
The management of the Central Management Company and all the workers “deeply regret this unfortunate fact and transfer their most sincere and deep condolences to the deceased’s relatives”, as reported by the entity in a press release.
The plant is in a cold stop situation for the completion of the works corresponding to its recharge number 37, as the central recalls.
