The swimmer regrets “my mistakes” in the biography but her partner reacts even worse: “You exposed me, now I’m a victim in front of everyone”
The Danish release of Fri, a book written by Jeanette Ottesen, delfinist-styleliberal, ends in controversy. The 33-year-old, who boasts 5 Olympics and almost 50 international medals, in recounting her life reveals that she has bullied together with other teammates and companions Lotte Friis, the former multi-champion of middle distance, also Olympic bronze in the 800 behind Alessia Filippi in Beijing 2008 Jeannette, Friis’ training partner at the Bellahøj National Training Center, admits that she continually targeted Lotte, who at that point became a designated victim, “but she didn’t take it out despite we laughed at her.” Now he admits that he is aware that one is “indignant. But I say it as it is. It would certainly be easier not to say it, in any case I am really proud to admit that I made these mistakes ”.
Friis did not take it well and via social media she said: “From today I feel more exposed in Denmark than I have ever been before. It’s my story to tell, not hers. With her need to tell what she perceives as a complete story of her own, Jeanette has made sure that my future children, colleagues and everyone else can read the story of “bullied Lotte” forever.
