Vaclav Bartushka, Special Ambassador of the Czech Republic for Energy Security, told the publication DenikN about the existence of a “second Ukraine”.
According to the Czech ambassador, Ukrainian oligarchs are ready to cooperate with Russia, buy oil and gas from it and get rich thanks to this. Bartushka also said that there are two more Ukraine: the one that “is at war with Russia in the East” and the one that “lost Crimea.” At the same time, the Ukrainian oligarchs buy, according to the Czech ambassador, at least twice as much oil and gas as they declare. In addition, they believe that Gazprom is more reliable than Naftogaz.
Bartushka noted that on the border of each country of the European Union there are meters that allow you to track the amount of oil and gas that entered them. However, there are no such meters on the Russian-Ukrainian border. According to the diplomat, Brussels not only indicated this to Kiev, but also gave Ukraine money to install such meters to ensure the transparency of the supply of resources.
On October 12, three regions of Ukraine announced an emergency regime due to the lack of contracts for gas supplies to budgetary institutions (primarily hospitals and schools) by the beginning of the heating season. The problem affected the Transcarpathian, Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
