And the total amount of Sporting Lisbon club with Zamalek became one million and 300 thousand dollars due within a month.
Sporting Lisbon demanded its financial dues from Zamalek after the return of Mahmoud Shikabala in 2015 and only $140,000 of the player’s dues were paid.
The International Football Association announced the imposition of a financial penalty on Zamalek club, estimated at 670,000 euros, in favor of the Portuguese club, after Shikabala returned again to the White Castle without paying the value of the deal.
Shikabala joined Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2014, but he only participated in one match before he stopped training, and then decided to return to Egypt and join Zamalek.
For his part, Amr Adham, a member of the Zamalek board of directors, spoke about his club’s next step to respond to the Sports Court’s decision to compel his club to pay $400,000 in favor of Sporting Lisbon, according to Egyptian media.
He explained, “We have a deadline of 30 days and we are communicating with the lawyer to discuss the legal solution. There is another degree of litigation in the Swiss court, and we will communicate with Sporting Lisbon to schedule the dues.”
He added, “The biggest problem is that Zamalek will bear 10% interest since 2015 on the amount of 510,000 dollars, bringing the amount to 810,000 dollars.”
He continued, “This is in addition to the $400,000, with 5% interest, since 2016. This means adding $100,000, so that what is required in the final is 1,300,000 dollars, or more than 22 million pounds, in exchange for that I would have paid 4 million pounds if I had contacted the Portuguese club previously.” .
