The Ministry of Interior stated, in a statement, that it had arrested a “psychologically shaken” in Ismailia (previously detained in a clinic for addiction treatment) who assaulted a worker with a machete, which led to the separation of his head and he was uttering incomprehensible words.
The ministry added that on examination, it was found that he was working in a furniture store for the victim’s brother.
The accused had killed a citizen on Tanta Street in Ismailia Governorate, beheaded him using a cleaver, and carried him and walked with her in the public street, which sparked a state of panic and terror among the citizens.
The police forces arrived at the scene of the crime, closed the roads leading to the street, deployed their forces at the site, and prevented citizens from filling in the traces of the victim’s blood, until the Public Prosecution team arrived to inspect the traces of the crime as required.
