Yuji Naka has painted Naoto Ohshima black in a photo of the 26th anniversary of the NiGHTS franchise.
He will always be remembered for being one of the creators of Sonic the Hedgehog, but the truth is that Yūji Naka continues to generate controversy wherever he goes. The Japanese creative revealed things that he shouldn’t have about SEGA’s blue hedgehog a few days ago, and now it’s back in the news, for the worse, for a post on social networks.
On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the NiGHTS franchise, Yuji Naka shared a series of photos on his official Twitter account. Twitter where some of the members of the original team that made the game appeared. Nevertheless, Naoto Oshima does not appear, who has shared years of work with him. You can see the image in the tweet below.
In the photograph you can see how Naka has erased Oshima by painting him black without any dissimulation and as if it were a quick Paint job. In addition to designing Sonic, Oshima was a character designer for Balan Wonderworld, so it seems that their relationship has not come to fruition after development.
How would you feel if you were kicked out of a game you’ve worked on for two years?Yūji NakaNaka has since posted another series of tweets clarifying what happened, apologizing that they eliminated him from the game which he had worked hard for over two years, having been talking about it behind his back. “How would you feel if you were the director of an unfinished game that has been harshly criticized?”, ends.
By this, Yuji Naka is referring to the fact that during the development of Balan Wonderworld he was suddenly fired by Square Enix, who did not heed the notices of the director, who insisted that the game was far from finished. Naka ended up suing the company and the game ended up being pretty poor indeed.
