The Ministry of Infrastructure informed that the country’s federal highways and strategic logistical points continue without any occurrence of partial or total blockage this Tuesday morning, 2. The information was released in an updated bulletin at 8:00 am, the most recent one released to the press . The report is based on information from the Ministry of Justice and Public Security through the Federal Highway Police (PRF).
On Monday, November 1, autonomous transporters began a national strike across the country. On Tuesday, the actions of truck drivers, who were punctual along highways and at gas stations, became more sporadic amid a series of bans regarding restrictions on traffic on highways.
According to the ministry, there is still only one concentration point at km 276 of the BR-116/RJ (on the Presidente Dutra highway), in Barra Mansa (RJ).
“At the moment, the highway is unblocked and without approaching truck drivers who are on their way,” said the ministry, citing an attempt to interdict the lane by protesters on Monday night, which was contained by the Federal Highway Police.
At the Port of Santos there is still a group of protesters present, according to the ministry. The ministry stated that the number of people present at the port complex “has considerably decreased”.
“The Military Police of São Paulo and the Port Guard are still offering escorts to ensure better security for the flow of trucks accessing the port,” the ministry said.
