This decision was ratified after reaching a consensus in the Conmebol Council that was held in Bangkok, going along the same line as what UEFA had determined, so coaches will have more flexibility in choosing their players.
The contest will start on Thursday, June 20, 2024, with the inaugural match of the Copa América that will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the city of Atalanta where the MLS team and the NFL Falcons are home. The Argentinadefending champion of this trophy, will be the protagonist of the opening match, facing Canada.
