According to a statement by Bashagha’s media office, the new government, mandated by Parliament, has taken all administrative and security measures to complete the delivery and receipt process in accordance with the law.
The statement also renewed the call for all media outlets to investigate accuracy in reporting government-related news from their sources.
Internal and external disable
Political analyst Omar Abu Saeeda warned that the goal of what is happening now is the efforts of some international and regional powers to continue the Libyan crisis, and the frequency of useless external solutions, noting that whoever was behind stopping the army’s progress towards the capital, Tripoli (in 2019 at the time of the illegal Government of National Accord led by Fayez Al-Sarraj). ) to end the chaos of the spread of arms, they are the same parties and personalities that are trying to prevent the receipt of the new government that most Libyans agreed upon.
Abu Saida added to “Sky News Arabia” that what the former prime minister is doing to obstruct the handover is not from Dabaiba’s ideas, but rather from local orders from extremist and militia leaders from the cities of Tripoli, Zawiya and Misrata.
According to security expert, Abdul Hamid Al-Kaseh, the receipt of the new government’s work is the only way to stop any upcoming “war”, and it is the only method that can lead the country to the elections stage in a more ideal atmosphere.
Speaking to “Sky News Arabia,” he warned that the Dabaiba government’s continuation until the date of the next elections – as Dabaiba demands – clearly means that the new date for the elections has not been reached, citing the failure of the Dabaiba government to hold the elections on their scheduled date, December 24.
It is expected that the first action of the new government will be to end the presence of the militias, according to Al-Kaseh, noting that “Bashagha has the ability to do this, something that perhaps the international community does not seem ready to agree to; which means that the big problem and intractable dilemma is not inside Libya.” .
The intervention of the elders of Misurata
Social leaders and wise men from the city of Misurata in western Libya, which is the birthplace of both Dabaiba and Bashagha, had previously demanded, the new prime minister, to stop the movement of an armed force affiliated with him to Tripoli, and to give them an opportunity to end the problem of handover and receipt between the two governments, which was agreed to by Bashagha.
The mobilization of the force supporting Bashagha, on Thursday, came after an armed force, the “Joint Operations Force” supporting Dabaiba, declared a state of alert and maximum mobilization in Tripoli; To prevent the new government from moving to the capital.
The head of the reconciliation committee in Misurata, Muhammad al-Rajobi, said in his statements that the goal of all Libyans is to reach the elections, and they hope that the Prime Minister-designate from the House of Representatives, Fathi Bashagha, will support this goal.
He stressed that the people of Misrata will not enter into a war, no matter the circumstances, explaining that he is in contact with notables and sheikhs of Cyrenaica (Eastern Region), and everyone is calling for elections because they are the only way out of the crisis.
This comes as the Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General for Libya, Stephanie Williams, announced that former Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Dabaiba may hold direct talks with the new Prime Minister, Fathi Bashagha, to resolve the political crisis in the country.
In a press statement, Williams said that Dabaiba and Bashagha had shown positive reactions, and that the good thing was that everyone was ready to engage in a constructive dialogue.
