The development of the plots next to the future health center of San Cristóbal de Lorca will be carried out simultaneously with the construction of the health center and the housing blocks. It was announced this Friday by the Councilor for Urban Planning, María Hernández, who explained that the City Council has begun drafting the project that foresees the opening of two 15-meter-wide streets to improve access to the neighborhood.
The new roads will intersect each other and connect Beato Fray Pedro Soler, Eulogio Periago and San Fernando streets. 250 homes will be built in buildings with ground floor, six floors, attic and above-ground floors and will include a basement for “unlimited parking”, according to the mayor.
He explained that once the project is drafted, initial and final approval will be carried out. Then the tender and the beginning of the work. He stressed that the urbanization works will not be an obstacle to granting the construction license because “we must move forward”, since “there are owners interested in promoting as soon as possible” in this area.
During the drafting phase of the project, the use of the site as public parking will continue. The adaptation of the plots with the leveling to achieve their uniformity as they are occupied by different buildings at different heights allowed the creation of more than 200 spaces for vehicles this Holy Week. “Its occupancy is high” as it is located very close to the food plaza, the San Cristóbal church and the historic center, said Hernández.
