Kadyrov threatened parliamentarians with blood feud after the shooting at Wildberries
The head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, threatened blood feud against the senator from Dagestan and billionaire Suleiman Kerimov, as well as two deputies of the State Duma – Bekhan Barakhoev and Rizvan Kurbanov. He stated this at a meeting with representatives of the republic’s security bloc, which was held in the Chechen language. The reason was the events near the Wildberries office in Moscow, where a shootout took place on September 18.
“There are witnesses, there are people from whom they ordered, they asked how much you can accept the order (for reprisals against the head of Chechnya — approx. “Tapes.ru”),” Kadyrov said.
If they do not prove otherwise, I officially declare blood feud against Barakhoev, Karimov Suleiman, Kurbanov Rizvan
Kadyrov warned against attempts to give a national color to the incident near the Wildberries office and “pit people against each other over a domestic conflict.”
“If anyone has complaints against Kadyrov’s people, then let them express them to me personally, since I am the main Kadyrov’s man,” he said, emphasizing that “one must be held accountable for one’s words.”
What is known about the conflict around Wildberries
In the summer of 2024, Kadyrov posted a video in which Wildberries co-founder Vladislav Bakalchuk announced a raider takeover of the company. In the conflict between Vladislav Bakalchuk and Tatyana Bakalchuk (she later changed her last name to Kim), the Chechen authorities took the side of the owner’s husband. Kadyrov instructed to deal with the “raider takeover” of Wildberries by State Duma deputy from Chechnya Adam Delimkhanov, promising Bakalchuk to do “everything possible” to return his wife to the family and protect the business.
“And on this issue I will reach the end,” Kadyrov said.
Less than a month after this, on September 18, a shootout occurred in the center of Moscow near the company’s office. Two Wildberries employees were killed, and seven more were injured. The participants in the attack were detained, and Bakalchuk was charged with four criminal articles.
Later it was reported that Delimkhanov reproached the Ingush guarding the Wildberries office for meanness – they allegedly ignored agreements with the Chechens and ambushed Vladislav Bakalchuk.

What is blood feud
Blood feud is an ancient cruel custom of declaring vendetta on an entire family. It arose during the period of the tribal system and exists in different countries – from Albania and Greece to Yemen and Japan.
The tradition of blood vengeance also operates in Russia among the peoples of the North Caucasus – Adygea, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia, Chechnya. It is used as a way to resolve conflicts.
There are no exact rules for blood feud, ethnographer Akhmet Yarlykapov explained to Lenta.ru. Everything is based on customs, which may vary depending on the ethnic or sub-ethnic group.
To resolve blood conflicts, official commissions were created – this was the case both in Soviet times and in modern Russia. In 2011, Ramzan Kadyrov announced the complete eradication of the practice of blood feud in Chechnya and the dissolution of reconciliation commissions, however, he himself threatened blood feud against his opponents, for example, terrorists.
