The head of Public Works is committed to measures such as subsidy lines “to encourage the use of clean fuels, instead of penalizing entrepreneurs who use traditional fuels”
The Community will announce aid worth 9,452,896 euros for the transformation of the vehicle fleet of passenger and freight companies. They are part of the European plan for sustainable, safe and connected mobility in urban and metropolitan environments, sources from the regional Administration reported in a statement.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, held a meeting on Monday with the president of Froet, Pedro Díaz, to agree on the percentages and amounts of the different lines before the publication of the call, whose recipients are autonomous, SMEs and larger companies.
Díez de Revenga showed his support for Froet’s claims, which urge the central government to take extraordinary measures to stop the escalation in energy prices, which are suffocating the regional productive sectors. He indicated that “the rise in prices is not a recent event but rather started a year ago.”
“From the regional government we demand that the central government lower, quickly and urgently, taxes on fuels so as not to suffocate companies,” said the counselor, who requested “commitments, not promises, to guarantee the survival of companies and supply chains.
Next Generation Grants
The regional manager highlighted “the importance of obtaining the maximum energy efficiency of vehicles” at a time as difficult as the current one, and pointed out that “public administrations have to provide the means to make possible the green revolution in transport that marks the European Union , without entailing an extra cost for the companies».
This line of aid from the Next Generation funds subsidizes five activities: scrapping, acquisition of alternative energy vehicles, retrofit or modification of the form of propulsion, implementation of electric recharging infrastructures and acquisition of semi-trailers for railway motorways.
The categories of subsidized vehicles range from those intended for the transport of people, from more than eight seats and less than five tons, to those for the transport of goods that exceed 16 tons. The head of Development is committed to measures such as subsidy lines “to encourage the use of clean fuels, instead of penalizing entrepreneurs who use traditional fuels.”
