The Minister of Finance travels to the Mobile World Congress with the aim of advancing in the digital transformation of the Administration
The Minister of Economy, Finance and Digital Administration, Luis Alberto Marín, is this week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, one of the most prominent fairs in the technology sector, in which he will seek to promote alliances between the regional government and technology companies important at an international level to continue advancing in the development of the Digital Agency, “the most outstanding project within the process of digital transformation in which the Autonomous Community is immersed”.
The head of the Treasury plans to meet with the representatives of the main technology companies present at this event, such as Huawei, Vodafone, Telefónica, Google and Orange. The objective is to analyze possible ways of collaboration in the different areas covered by the digital transformation process, from the digitization of the Administration, Education or Health to the implementation of 5G technology and the reinforcement of cybersecurity.
Specifically, Marín met yesterday with the CEO of Huawei, Jack He; with the CEO of Vodafone in Spain, Colman Deegan; and with the general director East of Telefónica, Chema Casas. Today, his agenda includes work meetings with the head of Google’s Education area for Spain, Gonzalo Romero, and with Orange managers.
Marín underlined the regional government’s commitment to digital transformation as one of the pillars of social and economic reactivation. “The way out of the crisis generated by the pandemic necessarily involves taking advantage of the possibilities offered by digitization and, for this reason, the Government of López Miras has allocated a record investment of nearly 70 million euros.”
“These work meetings with technology companies allow us to expand their possibilities and be more effective and efficient in the design of the Digital Agency,” explained Marín.
