The municipalities of Los Alcázares and San Pedro del Pinatar have planned two large-scale actions and a total investment of more than two million euros. The reconstruction of the Mar Menor Sur fire station, in Los Alcázares, whose current facilities are 35 years old, with a complete remodeling that will replace the current construction; and the works of the new Mar Menor Norte park, in San Pedro del Pinatar, in addition to acquiring new vehicles.
This was reported this Friday by the Minister of Transparency, Participation and Public Administration, Antonio Sánchez Lorente, during his visit to Los Alcázares, where he assured that “the regional government is betting on improving public services in the Region, more specifically those dedicated to emergencies, citizen security and civil protection. Thus, the Murcia Region Fire Extinction and Rescue Consortium (CEIS) is in a phase of expansion and growth ”.
The construction of the Mar Menor Sur fire station, in Los Alcázares, is an action already contemplated in the next budgets for 2022 and will have an approximate amount of 900,000 euros.
Regarding the works of the North Mar Menor, in San Pedro del Pinatar, they have a budget of 180,000 euros for the first phase, which includes the construction of an area for fire fighting vehicles and perimeter fence, in addition to the urbanization and the asphalting of the entire plot that has an area of more than 4,700 meters. Phase 2 will consist of the construction of a social zone, with an approximate investment of 400,000 euros, foreseen in the CEIS budgets for the year 2022.
“The quality of life of a city is measured by the quality of its public services,” commented the head of Transparency, who highlighted that “phase 1 of the San Pedro del Pinatar fire station is in the award period. It will end next week and we will have 35 calendar days to design the project. We hope to be able to lay the first stone to begin its construction next January ».
The Consortium for Fire Extinguishing and Rescue (CEIS) will also have a significant increase in staff and will increase its fleet of vehicles. This year the positions of nine corporals and two sergeants have been filled.
