López Miras sends a letter to the President of the Government to reiterate his “support for any necessary initiative undertaken by our country to restore peace and normality”
The president of the Community, Fernando López Miras, announced this Friday that the Region of Murcia makes available to the central government “all the resources that are necessary to send to Ukraine, such as any type of medical material or humanitarian aid; places to receive refugees and all the hospitals in the Region to urgently care for Ukrainians wounded as a result of this war».
López Miras sent a letter to the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, where he reiterates his “full support” to the International Community, the European Union and the Government of Spain for “a resounding position against this situation so that the actions that necessary, so that the Russian attack ceases as soon as possible.
The head of the autonomous Executive received this Friday representatives of Ukrainian associations residing in the Region of Murcia at the Palacio de San Esteban to share “the feeling and affection of all Murcia with the people of Ukraine.” Likewise, he reiterated the close collaboration between the regional government and the Ukrainian community to make available “vehicles and communication channels to send any type of aid.”
López Miras recalled that the Region of Murcia is a “community of solidarity that has a million and a half Murcians who do not tolerate injustice and inhumanity.” For this reason, he transmitted to the representatives a message of “firm and forceful rejection of the barbarism that Russia is causing.” The Region of Murcia is the autonomous community where the proportion of citizens from Ukraine is higher in relation to its population. Specifically, of the more than 100,000 Ukrainians who live in Spain, nearly 8,000 live in the Region.
