They receive 3.4 million euros in aid for the payment of rent and basic supplies for their homes
The Community guarantees a home for 2,400 families affected by the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, thanks to the 3.4 million euros they have already received in social emergency aid for the payment of rent and basic supplies.
This line of subsidies is part of the regional Executive’s home policies, which it launched as soon as it detected the first economic difficulties, in order to avoid possible evictions and provide immediate access to a home. In total, to date the regional government has allocated 9 million euros to these grants that it manages in collaboration with non-governmental organizations.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, and the Vice President and Minister of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy, Isabel Franco, yesterday visited the facilities of Cepaim, one of the collaborating entities, where they took stock of these grants. “The goal is to help as many families as possible to access or stay at home,” they explained.
Díez de Revenga and Franco highlighted the work of Cepaim, which has recently received a grant of 294,300 euros to acquire 21 homes for vulnerable families. “These new properties will serve to offer a home to those who need it most,” they explained.
