The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen denied allegations made by the Houthi terrorist militia about raids it said the coalition fighters had carried out in Al-Jawf Governorate. “We are committed to stopping military operations inside Yemen in response to the request of the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council,” the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted the coalition spokesman, Brigadier Turki al-Maliki, as saying.
He stressed that the coalition air forces did not carry out any combat operations inside Yemen.
“We are taking all steps to make the cessation of military operations successful and to make comprehensive peace,” he added.
Despite the entry into force of a truce announced by the coalition unilaterally to prepare the atmosphere for the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations sponsored by the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf in Riyadh, the escalation of terrorist militias is still underway, a translation of the militias’ lack of desire for peace.
The pace of battles between the Yemeni army, backed by tribal fighters, and the Houthi militia in Ma’rib governorate intensified, following attacks launched by the militias after they brought in military reinforcements during the past two days.
Field sources said that the early hours of yesterday morning witnessed violent clashes with various types of weapons in the sandy and mountainous axes, east and west of Jabal al-Balaq.
The sources stated that the army forces succeeded in confronting the simultaneous attacks carried out by the Houthi militias in more than one axis, noting that the militias used human forms extensively and pushed armored military vehicles loaded with their terrorist elements.
In turn, the army artillery carried out a focused bombardment targeting militia gatherings under “Jabal al-Balaq” and in the vicinity of Qaron Laza.
The military build-up of the terrorist Houthi militia coincides with a truce announced by the Coalition to Support Legitimacy to create the atmosphere for the political consultations in Riyadh.
In another context, the International Organization for Migration announced the displacement of more than 200 Yemeni families within a week due to the continuation of the war waged by the terrorist Houthi militia and the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in several Yemeni governorates.
In its weekly report, the international organization said that 202 families, representing approximately “10,212 individuals”, were displaced from the governorates of Ma’rib, Taiz, Al Hudaydah, Al Dhale’ and Ibb, during the period March 20 and 26.
According to the UN, it has monitored the displacement of about 4,786 families, representing nearly 29,000 people, since the beginning of this year until the end of last March.
It is worth noting that the United Nations had announced that the number of displaced people as a result of the coup in Yemen has risen to 4 million and 200 thousand people.
She noted that the total number of displaced people across the country has risen to about 4.2 million people since the outbreak of the war in March 2015.
