Last year’s Copa América, James Rodríguez proved to be a player with plenty of talent. The Colombian was crowned the best player in the tournament and his sporting level has put him in the sights of several clubs in Europe, especially now that the playmaker has signed a contract termination with Sao Paulo of Brazil. In this case, clubs from the old continent have sounded out the ’10’s entourage to seduce him, however, a very tempting offer could arrive from Africa.
Hanif Ben Berkane of FootMarcato and L’Equipe reports that Wydad Casablanca, one of the most powerful clubs in Africa and the most powerful in Morocco, is looking to sign James Rodríguez this summer. The team is reportedly in talks with the Colombian’s management to try to convince him to join their squad, since unlike clubs in Europe, the Moroccan side can offer the ’10’ an elite salary.
However, James is not the only target for the African side, as the club wants the Colombian to form a duo with one of the great lost talents of the generation, Mario Balotelli, a centre forward who the Moroccans want to add to their squad now that the Italian is also a free agent. It is important to note that Wydad Casablanca will be in the next Club World Cup with 32 participants, which is why they want to arrive at the tournament with two star-class stars, who they want to convince with magnanimous salaries.
